History. Dates and events:

The history of “Svetlana”-K goes back long before its official opening date in 1997. At that time, founder and CEO Gennady Kartashov was inspired to create a freight company that would deliver freight to anywhere in Russia.

March 2, 1999 : “Svetlana”-K opens. The company soon notches its first major success, counting Avon – a world leader in direct cosmetics sales – among its clients. This relationship, in large part, sets the direction for our company’s further growth.

That same year, we acquire our first GAZelle vehicle.

2000: We send our first freight to Russia’s regions with the help of rail and air transport.

To expedite the order supply chain for recipients of Avon goods, in 2000 we also established the Courier-Maximum courier service throughout Russia.

2001: The company’s first branch is founded, in Rostov-on-Don. The branch hosts an office and warehouse for freight processing. Soon after appears the first assembly line for per-item assembly of orders for our clients’ recipients.

2001–2007: Together with major MLMs, “Svetlana”-K grows rapidly and helps them to conquer new regions of Russia. The company also develops its own large network of branches. We open branches in several major Russian cities: Samara, Krasnodar, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, and St. Petersburg.

2006: We conclude a long-term contract with Volvo-Vostok, official Volvo distributor in Russia, for the supply of heavy vehicles. In October 2006, “Svetlana”-K acquires its first (and very own) 20-ton Volvo truck.

The company also begins to develop and deploy Domino, its in-house software for company recordkeeping.

2007 to 2009: ”Svetlana”-K management embarks on a new course of growth, to attract new clients and new types of freight. At the same time, relentless competition on the freight transport market pushes the company forward in perfecting service and rounding out its range of services for corporate clients. The company continues to pursue its programs of investment in transport and infrastructure, boosting the company’s competitiveness on the Russian market.

August 14, 2008: The “Svetlana”-K trademark is registered in the Russian State Registry of Trademarks and Service Marks.

December 2008: “Svetlana”-K joins the Perfumery and Cosmetic Association of Russia.

February 2009: The TOP-Express courier service is brought to the mass market and enjoys active growth. The company begins to provide express delivery of documents and small packages between company branches. To ease mail delivery in light of city traffic jams, all major company branches acquire Opel Combo vehicles.

Not long after, the courier service expands to more areas of Russia for client convenience and begins to implement its development program for international express delivery.

2010 : ”Svetlana”-K continues active development of its network of branches. Branches are opened in Surgut and Irkutsk.

FEBRUARY 2010 : The company opens its own class-A warehouse complex in the city of Balashikha, in Moscow region.
